It is quite amazing how long the Dragon Quest series has endured, and how large an appeal it has. Although the urban myth of Dragon Quest games being barred from release on weekdays in Japan to prevent widespread absenteeism has been disproven, that it entered popular belief is an indication of the cultural clout that the series possesses.

Hard to believe it's already been a year – but the PixelCast reset is certainly going stronger the the initial, limp beginning. Hell, we almost managed to get it fortnightly! It resulted in a decent amount of talk that made up for the lack of anything much else, and flickered back around again when Tim, Ken, and Michael reflected on the year that has already been and looked out towards what is yet to come.
